Hartest and Coldham fall just short

Tuddenham 161 all out
McKinney 68,Kemp 24.
T Wood 5 for 37, P Richards 3 for 40, J Moriarty 2 for 28

Hartest and Coldham Hall CC 120 all out
B Atkinson 32,T Wood 17, D Hodge 16.
Smith 4 for 32, Kemp 2 for 10.

Captain Roberts lost the toss and Tuddenham decided to bat first.

Tuddenham opening batsmen got off to a flyer with McKinney scoring his 50 out of the first 60 runs by the eleventh over. However T Woods and P Richards consistent bowling paid off with wickets eventually falling quite fast as Tuddenham were 97 for 3 to 161 all out.

D Hodge and M Atkinson opened the batting for HCCC and slowly got to 23 before Hodge was bowled for 16 off the alleged New Zealand 2nds Bowler Kemp. Two quick wickets fell of Ralling and Captain Roberts rather controversially where the catch looked as though it may have been grounded but was given out.

When T Wood and B Atkinson got together a 51 partnership with some erratic fast bowling from Mills and extras got the score to 86 when Wood like so many HCCC batsmen got themselves out with a poor shot selection on 17. The tail went very quickly with only Moriarty showing some stubborn resistance ending on 10 not out.

Two young players were making there debut in Walton and Gibbon the former fielded very well saving a lot of runs in the Tuddenham innings.

It was a game where HCCC have improved from there first game but a feeling of a missed opportunity to get the first win of the season. The team travel away to Bury in the next game on May 13th and with excellent team spirit will again hope to improve there performance although its still very early season to panic.
