Captain's Blog Part 1 & 2 and Ground Name

Wow, that match report would have taken me months to write!!

What a superb game of cricket. So many positives, not least the young Stevo Dunne who hit off drives that international cricketers would have been proud of - a definite talent who will hopefully play more games (Niall reckons that he can bowl a bit too!).

I thought that Fatty had a good afternoon behind the stumps and I bet he will be hardly walking by Tuesday.

I also have to mention Stevo "the bomber" Lankaster who produced the goods once again with a certain century in the making and bowled as good a spell of spin bowling that I have seen since I was in my prime sending down tweakers! What makes it better is that he is lovely chap who enjoys blowing the top off a coldie or two(lager).

Great stuff chaps and a huge thanks to Jussie for turning up at very short notice.

See you Sun,

Skip

Oh Yes, I forgot to say well done to Mozza for his superb juggling catch - I was having nightmares about it last night. Was it just me or did he look odds on to drop it until the final moment? Who cares? It, in effect, won the match!

Well batted to the webmaster. Has he finally found form or was it because Ben was away???

SANDWICH FILLINGS ON SUNDAY WERE THE BEST OF THE SEASON. NOTE TO ALL FUTURE TEAS-PERSONS - CHEESE AND HAM ON WHITE EASY ON THE BUTTER NO MUSTARD NO PICKLE.

ANOTHER QUESTION THAT NEEDS ANSWERING IS , WHEN IS STEVE GOING TO START PLAYING FOR US EVERY WEEK. I THINK THAT WITH A LITTLE TRAINING FROM THE MONKEY MAN, HE COULD BE QUITE A GOOD BOWLER!!

Thank you Skip for the Captain's blog always interesting and your observations on the superb victory and your captaincy which is why we often get the results we do, please don't change.

Billy the cook, fielding coach and now bowling expert is there any end to your talents???

Thank you for your contributions and to all players and parents, tea ladies, supporters, this is your website so please feel free to have your say on anything you want.

I have a thing to ask or put out to you and that is a name for our ground? I assume there isn't one that I am aware of but I think between us we could come up with a name or two.

I have a couple but I doubt that they will stick [bit like my catching before anyone says] so lets perhaps have a couple of suggestions.

1. Richards Arena, 2. Richards Fields of Dreams, 3. Shimpling Street / Road, 4. ?

You choose number 4 and perhaps with approval we can come up with something a bit better than Pete's field?

Lastly you may have noticed that the website has shot over 1000 hits which is not a run rate its how many times the site has been looked at so again pass the details onto all your loved ones and parents as I am sure they would love to know what you get up to and feel apart of the club.

Markie the Webmaster.
