Grand Night at Boxted Hall Awards Gala

What a terrific night was had in the grand setting of Boxted Hall with a great turn out and a wonderful meal with a lot of work behind the scenes from Captain Roberts and Family.

It was great to meet up and review last season with a few awards but in one speech made summed up the whole ethos of the club in the fact win lose or draw to turn up and play with friends and have a good time is what it is all about, well said David Hodge.

David Hodge won two awards for best batting average and a club mini bat for scoring 125.

Steve Lankester won best bowling with simply some figures that you could not ignore and more the same this season Steve.

All the tea ladies were thanked and got a large round of applause for the Division One best teas you could wish to have, thank you again.

Peter Richards and his good lady Kate were also mentioned for his sterling work on the pitch and many hours involved and a big thanks to him and his family especially to young Jake Richards who has spent many hours helping his Dad and willing to step into the breach to field, play and really is a good young man. Captain Roberts gave Jake a special mention in his awards speech, well done Jake.

Nick Rutter also for helping behind the scenes and the Roff's boys to make the whole club what it is a friendly family fun place to be.

Mrs Webmaster got a bouquet of flowers which I know she appreciated loads and she also says thank you but we the club do appreciate this job and very important it is in the game itself and in all weathers although the " it's cold "one is her most used one.

The evening is captured in some pictures above and the averages are now on the site posted below.

Happy Birthday to Mozza 35 on the day to which he was late and got an ovation of cheers followed by the familiar Happy Birthday oh how he blushed!!

As we put the Championship season to bed we must get our head on to training and the new challenge of Division Two and the new memories we will get for 2008.

Thanks to all that attended lets hope the AGM on the 23rd January is as well supported at the venue of the Lawshall Swan 7.30 start.

Markie the Webmaster
