Billy's First Match Report
I think that it was a great shame that our game last week was called off. If we had played then the slightly rusty start that we had with the bat as a team might have found us an extra 30 or 40 runs, which ultimately in my view would have won us the game against Walsham.
That said though, i thought that as a team we did really well in the field. The god Hodge obviously saved his energy for his first spell of the season and really put us back in the game. It was also great to see Gus bowling really well, i have to say that he reminded me of a young Billy-ray at the same age.
One of the main reasons that we won the league last year was down to our passion and commitment in the field. The effort and desire that we showed on Sunday very nearly won us the match, but over all it has to be said that i think this season is looking very promising.
Although Hodgy was the man of the hour with the ball ( and a run out that I'm sure bill had his eyes shut for!) i think that Gus deserved Man of the match for a great spell.
Lets get 20 points next week!!
