Game at Brettenham Postponed
Heavy rain over the weekend led to an early call for the game at Brettenham to be postponed by 9.00am.
With one week of fixtures to go the final game away to Lakenheath may and I stress may on a worse case scenario mean that H&CHCC may require 1 point to secure there second division status in there first campaign in Division Two.
Based on all games being postponed and checking the fixture list Tuddenham have now finished there season with an average of 10.14.
Thurston are away at Withersfield who could still win promotion but based on them winning there best average could be 10.71. [Assuming they did not play today and win in this rain unlikely]
Lakenheath with an away game at Mellis today [probably also off with rain] have one game to play against ourselves and were they to win could achieve an average of 10.8 but with H&CHCC current average of 11.62. But if we were to lose the game that average would come down to worst case scenario of 10.79 which would be enough unless the results went against us today but I would be amazed if any games were played or rearranged of course.
In the very worst case which unlikely it could be Tuddenham and Lakenheath finishing on 10.8 to H&CHCC 10.79 so 1 point would move the average up to 10.85 and safety. Not wanting to tell the captain on possibly his last game in charge of H&CHCC WE SHOULD FIELD because if we are all out for 16!! a nightmare I still have and I wasn't playing we could be relegated.
By the time the fixture comes around next week I am confident we will already be safe but lets not count chickens yet.
How quick the season has come and gone as quick as the summer a more detailed review will appear after the season and Skipper does not like me to publish the averages before the dinner which I believe is going to be possibly in October / November more details later.
