Gotimmmm!
On march the mighty Hartest & Coldham Hall. Haverhill visited the Richards Oval today and were dispatched in good time to see us calling the Bush landlords to open early again.
On Thursday the weather did not look like we would get a game, but with a break in the clouds Jake managed to get the mowers going and leave us with a chance. The forecast improved and we managed to cut our way to a great looking wicket.
I won the toss and again decided to bowl first ( a simply superb and great choice even if some don't agree!), Hodgy and Jack bowled very well, and were backed up by a really good team performance fielding. Jack stood out as the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets for 8 runs from 10 overs. The unhappy visitors were 26-4 after 20 overs. After drinks Armstrong senior and Hatt...ie smelly finger Moadley worked hard and after 40 overs Haverhill had only managed 98-8.
This was a really tight performance in the field, we had 2 hat-trick chances and only 2 dropped catches.
After another quality tea Robbo and Hodgy made light work of the small total and we had 70 from 10 overs when Robbo went for one too many big shots. A brief cameo from Ben and the Hattie smelly finger Hoadley came in to help Hodgy get us over the line for the loss of 2 wickets and after only 14 overs.
4 from 4 now and 80 points in the bag.
TOTL !
