Day to Forget at Hartest and Coldham Hall CC

Hartest and Coldham Hall CC 56 All Out

B Atkinson 24,

Rougham CC  57 For 0

J Boor Not Out 28

With the threat of rain mid afternoon it was unlikely the game would finish but some excellent swing bowling from J Firth saw to it that a very unlikely win for Rougham, turning up with eight men and a ten year old.

It was very apparent from early on the new ball, green wicket and cloud cover helped the opening Rougham bowlers and runs became very difficult to get early on into the Hartest and Coldham innings.

Wickets started to fall after solid resistance from Roberts and Ben Atkinson who top scored with 24 with three wickets in Firth last three balls claiming a hatrick and putting Hartest and Coldham into disarray.

By the twenty second over the home team were all out and because of that fact tea was not taken as Rougham were keen to get back onto the pitch to secure victory against the elements more than the target provided by Hartest and Coldham.

They came out all guns blazing walking down the wicket hitting the ball all over the field taking extreme risks but with a small total and the fact fortune favours the brave the two openers soon within seven overs had gone past the home score to secure victory.

Hartest and Coldham Hall CC it was a day to forget and very little going their way in Division Two where the club were put, seems like it could be a long hard season ahead, but next week the team move onto BSSSC at Culford School so come along to give the boys a cheer!
