Great Turn out for the AGM

AGM

A super turn out for the AGM tonight was matched by the great hospitality given to us by the Swan Public House for letting us stage the AGM in the restaurant area.

Just under 20 in total turned up to support the club and the business was soon sorted out with all the officers and positions staying as they were for last season.

Chairman - Peter Richards

Vice Chairman - Dave Armstrong

Treasurer & Debt Collector - Nick Rutter

Secretary - David Hodge

Captain - Benjamin Atkinson

Vice Captain - Richard Carter

Grounds men team - Peter Richards, Dave Armstrong, and Nick Rutter, along with Shaun Faiers maintenance man plus the rest of the club helping when they can or asked by the grounds men team.

Any other business plus the financial part of the club was discussed along with some net practise to be arranged along with new doors, gang mower repairs, and even Mark Roberts looking into "flicky numbers" for a potential new look scoreboard.

The meeting was concluded within a short space of time before memories of previous seasons and a catch up of the last few months were spilling around the table with a lot of laughter, thrown in with a few jokes, even a tour to Kenya was mentioned.

It was a very good turn out and thank you to all turning up especially nice to see Ron of Ron and Margaret fame come along and support the club who will no doubt catch a few games throughout the coming season, but don't be late or you may miss us!

One sad bit of news was the fact we may have lost Josh Borley with an incident with a plate glass window which more important than the cricket is taking a while to heal but hopefully he will be seen supporting the boys, lets hope for a quick recovery.

Match fees plus fines are staying the same this season and teas was discussed to a point of getting sorted as early as possible and if you share between two that if possible you do two halves if you find that easier to do but lets get the 9 or so games covered quickly, we love our teas and they are a very much integral part of the match day experience.

Lastly, if you know anybody who wants a game of cricket please invite and get them on board, with a farming element, holidays, injuries an ageing squad, plus a few would like to watch the odd game and be able to move on a Monday morning then a couple of extra players would not go a miss, for example talking to Jordan he runs a football team and will mention to them about cricket, so if you know anyone then just ask, not every week but during the harvest period we do struggle.

So the season draws near.......... see you all soon...
