Hartest and Coldham Hall CC 52 all Out

The annual friendly with Exning took place at the Park in Exning where threatening weather was forecast and likely to disrupt the match.

Hartest and Coldham Hall CC would like to thank Exning CC for putting on the Friendly and sadly we did miss seeing the top man himself Tony Catley, we are thinking of you nevertheless.

The word friendly was very significant with everyone getting a bowl for Hartest and Coldham and even one Exning player Colby playing for Hartest and Coldham.

Ben Readman top scored for Exning scoring 56 and contributions throughout and sadly Steve Ghost Ryder had a recurrence of his knee injury and sat the rest of the game out looking rather forlorn with an amount of gym work done but now more to come, our best wishes goes to Steve for a quick return.

Steve took a wicket and also more regular bowlers Nick Rutter, Dickie Pearson, Dave Armstrong and last year bowler of the year Mark Roberts getting a wicket first ball of his spell.

Tea was done by Judith Atkinson and servant, aka Webmaster, very nice it was indeed, and then Hartest and Coldham who were probably keen to get a few cobwebs out of the system plus the drizzle was still lurking about did not play with much finesse, at all!

Mark Roberts scored a quick 25 and only Colby from Exning [playing for Hartest and Coldham] 12 reached double figures as wickets came tumbling down and I believe everyone had a bit of fun, got a few winter cobwebs out of the system in readiness for the league matches starting with Stowmarket away.

The Captain will be in touch and the new season will be up and running with new memories to make for 2017.
