Bushel Result Friendly

H&CCC 210 for 9 in 40 overs [M.Atkinson 46, B.Atkinson32, P.Richards29, N.Hannan27.

The Bushel 213 for 6 in 32.3 Overs. M.Hawkins 76, K.Pryke38.

D.Hodge was Captain for the day and won the toss. He decided to bat first on a surprising warm and sunny day.
32 runs were scored before the first wicket went down of the skipper with B. Atkinson coming in at three and hit a very fast 32 before losing concentration and puffing a bit to be bowled. This started a mini collapse with the score on 76 for 5 after 16 overs. M. Atkinson went in at seven to join Niall Hannan and with guile and most of all patience went on to make a 101 runs partnership before M. Atkinson was caught in the 34 over for 46 followed shortly by N. Hannan for 27. With the tail wagging Nick Rutter 19 not out and Bill Hannan 10 not out Hartest & Coldham finished 210 for 9.

The Bushel to there credit got off to a fast start and 38 from Pryke and a match winning 76 from Hawkins saw the home side achieve the target for the loss of 6 wickets in the 32 over.

Being a friendly and captain Hodge was trying to give everyone a bowl and bat there was a feeling that things could have been different. Two incidents of note were P. Richards great catch on the boundary then stepped back over the boundary to give a six. Also a double kick when Pryke tried a quick single where William Bryant kicked the ball to the stumps missed but bowler John Rawlings also kicked it on the move to hit the stumps and run Pryke out.
