I can honestly say that this is the first time in nearly 20 years of batting in this league that I have not been clapped into bat. When I challenged their captain on such rudeness he responded by saying that he encouraged non clapping and felt that clapping in a batsman was a sign of disrespect!!!
Thank goodness that we at H&CCC are true gents!(even if we can't catch!)I really have nothing to add to Markie's match report (please spell realise with an s not a Z - americanisms!)
Will FINALLY produced the goods that we all know he is more than capable of and was unlucky to be out looking for a single on the last ball of the over.
Due to a lack of availability I have had to call off Saturday's friendly against the Bushmen.
I think that we should all get into the garden this week and practise catching with our children/wives/partners/friends! Surely if we had held just half we would have had a fairly easy victory.
See you all Sunday where Will is on a hat trick! (if he gets a bowl)
Skip.

Hello form a very wet Lawshall, hope you are Ok.
Just wondered if you have done the write up from yesterdays match.
It's a big shame we didn't pull that win off, but a good and close try!
See you soon
Kate

Thank you Kate for your kind words I think we all felt that was one that got away and sometimes things like that happen.
Yes the report below was done on the game and I hope it's a fair assessment of events but this is all the club's players and families site to comment good and bad as I think this club is the friendliest club you could wish to be associated with and outstanding teas there is always a bright side to a defeat at home.
Yes Skipper I agree that the clapping thing was poor however if it was ignorance and is reviewed by there team meeting as mentioned in the Swan then perhaps your comments may change there ways still that is there problem.
I had spelt realised correct but the spell check changed it and I had not realized it!!! [lol]
Still we count down to Sunday and Great Cornard lets hope the weather relents and the game goes ahead.
I am thinking of posting the current batting and bowling averages and some will be better than others although I feel nobody will care except maybe the individual himself as I know we all try the best we can perhaps I can have some feed back if you want to put them on the site.
Let me know.
