A message from Steve Retired Ex H&CHCC Player

Coldham were my first Cricket club and I have fond memories playing in the summer of 1973. Myself and Paul Wilson were both 14yrs and seemed to spend most of that summer at the ground.

I have an old photo which shows the following players in the team -Raymond McKenna, Richard Twinn, Nick Harcourt-Powell, Phillip Everett, Brian Fitzgerald, Adrian Gregory, Don Wright, Bernie Burton, Graham Clampin (Capt) and myself and Paul.

All of our games were friendlies but we played most weekends and some evening matches too.Paul emigrated to Australia in the early eighties but I would be interested to learn whether any of the others are still around.

I later went on to play for Hawstead, Nowton and Bury Railway before spending several years playing for Lowestoft and Kirkley in the Norfolk Alliance before bad knees, back etc forced me to call it a day a couple of years ago. I miss playing but enjoy watching my son Sam play instead.

Cricket is a fantastic social event which will leave you with many friends and memories for life.Congratulations on your promotion and best wishes for the new season.

Thank you Steve I used to play with a Graham Clampin at Cockfield a few years ago.

By your comments I can tell you certainly were a H&CHCC player as the feel good factor win lose or draw is to have some fun and good memories please come up and give us a look if your get the chance.
