Thurston Thrashing History Made Sadly

H&CHCC 16 All Out

Drewry 7 for 7,

Thurston 18 for 3

A day most of the team will want to forget but never will for the rest of there playing days.

H&CHCC darkest moment in there history started with losing the toss and were asked to bat.

With Hodge work, M Atkinson injured, Walton and Hannan on holiday the team was not at its strongest but from the toss and the first to the last ball things never went H&CHCC way at all.

Ralling and Bryant opened the batting and first ball hit well by Ralling was caught at mid off to a good catch which has summed up Jono’s season where he has not had the rub of the green at all. Keep your chin up John we all go through patches like that and your team need you!

Bryant came in and edged a four and was caught quickly after with B Atkinson and Captain Roberts in they both tried to consolidate but patience is not a trait H&CHCC tend to have with Roberts caught and so to B Atkinson to a fabulous catch by bowler Drewry.

The demise continued with more wickets falling of Dutch, Richards, Delmar with the score on 9 for 5 and then Drewry convinced his Captain to bowl another over having four wickets trying for a five.

With every catch being held then Drewry took a hatrick and ending with the figures he I am sure will never be bettered 6 overs 7 runs for 7wickets and with Jordan Marlow last man out with joint top score of 4 along with Bryant and the extras also 4 ended a sad dismal 16 all out.

A day to forget and just one of those days where nothing went right and a game to forget but H&CHCC did take three wickets before Thurston passed the total.

A 20twenty ensued where in less than two overs H&CHCC passed 16 and went onto get 114 with ten men and with a friendly beer match a lot of people bowled and batted for some fun with Thurston sneaking home to win.

H&CHCC now have a break for a week and probably be a good thing to re charge the batteries and get there heads back and come back fighting in the next match against Tuddenham at home.
