Chairman John Ralling has for various reasons decided it was time to step down as Chairman of his beloved Cricket team,
Sky News I believe caught up with him earlier, this is what he said today;
After decades of exceptional on field performance, and having been chairman for most of the current millennium, Jonathan Ralling is leaving Hartest & Coldham Hall Cricket Club. Speaking on Sky Sports News, Ralling said that while he had enjoyed his time at the club he was pushed over the edge by the inclusion of sweetcorn in the tuna sandwiches on Sunday. While he was consulting lawyers over the catering, he hoped that he and the club could reach settlement without going to the European Court of Human Rights.
John Ralling [ Earlier today]
As you can see John has not lost the art of a good speech or word and he has had communication with Peter Richards and the Captain of his decision.
I spoke with John today and can say it was not the easiest thing he has chosen to do as for many years Hartest and Coldham Hall has been a big part of his life with so many memories all good.
We will I am sure see him from time to time coming down to watch and who knows if we are short still return to the crease and hit a few more runs....................
I have not enjoyed putting this news on here but can fully understand why he has decided to step down as my words are usually rubbish and grammatically incorrect I am going to leave the last few words that John sent on his e mail which pretty much sums it up,
Like I said in the letter – the best hobby I ever had.
Best regards
Jonathan
