I can now put the prayer mat away, Hodgey has found his touch! What a great knock and let's not forget Pete's brisk 49. What a headache - who to open with when Hodgey, Jonners and Pete are playing!
The great start allowed us to really have a go in the middle order and for once a good batting line up "on paper" delivered the goods.
Bowling was a slightly different matter. Not an easy task to a man of Farrant's power. We were told last week that he hits straight and he didn't disappoint. Rupert bowled a good spell as always but sadly for Pete, Farrant tucked in. Some important dropped catches didn't help but finally it was down to Niallos to take a superb catch in the deep to remove the danger man.
Further wickets fell at regular intervals and Hodgey assured bankruptcy by adding a 5 for to his splendid 125 runs.
Two weeks of friendlies (which we certainly lose because the flag is coming on tour!) before returning to league action against Nowton!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Skip.
