Brockley CC   188 for 7

S Brinkman 10 - 0 - 38 - 3

First win of the Season against second place Brockley CC a super result and the mantra of "Fun in the Sun" actually took place today.

Man of the Match just was Sandy Brinkman from Australia, opening the batting from being asked by Pete Richards who dropped out had an opening partnership with Ben Readman 80.

Sandy Brinkman scored 51, Ben Readman 37, laid the platform to the victory, with the skipper Ben Atkinson scoring a magnificent 97 not out, including 7 sixes and 7 fours.

Another major contribution from Ziaf Kulasi with 31.

Captain Ben Atkinson would have won the Man of the Match award but Sandy Brinkman bowled at a time of the Brockley onslaught taking 3 wickets in his 9 over spell.

Ziaf Kulasi also bowled very well taking a wicket and conceding only 37 runs, the reason behind the win was teamwork, great score to defend, fantastic fielding throughout the whole of the Brockley innings, bodies on the line.

Teas were done by Rosie Roberts and helped by her good friend Heather, fantastic, thank you.

The pitch was first class, the amount of runs suggests that alone, well done to the team.

Now - not my favourite subject - Teas, brought on my early retirement so its not all bad I guess.
1. The next 3 games have nobody on teas.
2. We call off next three home games.
3. We all bring in a plate of food who are playing enough for two people plus and all help on the day to sort it out.
4. We have volunteers to do the teas for the next three games.
5. If there is one, let me know or preferably the Captain.

Next Week - Away to Long Melford CC

Still need new players, I hope the Village can rally round to keep the club going, maybe the first win will help gain a few new faces like Sandy Brinkman.
